This morning I awoke to my wonderful husband drawing me out of bed to the table where he had communion prepared. He read to Madyson and I the story of the crucifixion and prayed as we took communion, remembering the death and sacrifice of our amazing Lord, Jesus Christ. What a great way to start out the day. Attending Applegate Christian Fellowship for so many years spoils a person with a taste of such close fellowship with the Lord, and a constant reminder of what He has done, in taking communion so often. It is such a blessing to have a place to go where communion is offered on a daily basis. You only know what I mean if you have lived away from such a place for any amount of time. We miss it so much. This morning I was reminded though, that we could take it here at home whenever we choose. My dad made us a beautiful wooden communion tray for Christmas a couple years ago. It sits in our kitchen as if it was a decoration. What a shame!
We could be taking communion more often at home. I'm gonna start. It's so important to constantly be reminded of the cross. I get so busy with life, I forget. I need to constantly refocus on Him, because if I don't, then I just end up doing everything in my own strength with my own goals in mind...I need Him. I need His strength and His plan. Thank You Jesus for what You did on the cross for me.
